Getöpfert

Die ersten Töpfer-Werke sind fertig. Noch nicht glasiert, aber das kommt noch. In den Kopf soll oben eine kleine Pflanze rein. Da muss ich erstmal suchen gehen und so eine kleine Pflanze finden, viel Platz ist da nicht :) Irgendeine Idee?

The first pottery works are done. They are not glazed yet but this will happen later. I want to plant a little flower or plant in the head. But first I have to look for such a little plant because there is not that much space :) Any ideas?

Noch mehr Stühle

Und noch mehr Stühle.

Die zwei Schätzchen brauchen gar nicht mehr bearbeitet werden, das sind alte Stühle aus einer Schule, die da noch im Keller rumstanden. Toll. Die kriegt mein Bruder. Vielleicht darf ich ja einen behalten :)

More chairs.

These two chairs are original school chairs, they stood in the school cellar for years.Great. My brother will get them. Maybe I can keep one for me :)

Stuhlprojekt

Dieser Stuhl stand zwei Jahre unbemalt in der Garage und auf meiner To-Do-Liste. In den letzten Sommersonnenstrahlen habe ich ihn dann endlich fertig bemalt. Jetzt fehlt nur noch ein passendes Kissen, mal schauen wie lange sich das auf der To-Do-Liste rumdrückt. 

This chair stood for about two years in the garage and on my to-do-list. In the last sunny moments of this summer I managed to paint it. Now a small pillow is still missing. I wonder how long this will be on my to-do-list.

Neues Projekt

Zur Zeit arbeite ich an einem etwas größeren Projekt. Genaueres gibt es später, nur soviel: dieser kleine Kerl ist mit von der Partie :)

Portrait: Klappe die Sechste

Heute wieder ein Porträt, aber mal in Collagetechnik. Irgendwie kann ich mich einfach nicht auf einen Stil festlegen, das geht einfach nicht. Naja, es gibt wohl Schlimmeres.

Ich habe euch einen Strauß Marsblumen mitgebracht. Die neuen sind schon gepflanzt, werden nächstes Wochenende geerntet. Eine schöne Woche euch allerseits! :)

Familienzuwachs

 

Hier ist es: Das gute Teil! Wisst ihr, was es ist? Genau, ein Brennofen.

Letztes Wochenende war ich auf einem Schnuppertöpferkurs und da ich schon seit Ewigkeiten töpfern will und es ziemlich toll fand, habe ich direkt mal Nägel mit Köpfen gemacht und einen Brennofen gekauft. Vielleicht etwas voreilig, noch habe ich keine Ahnung wie das alles funktionieren soll, aber naja, manchmal muss man auch mal unvernünftig sein. Fühlt sich zumindest gut an. :)

Was sind denn eure künstlerischen/handwerklichen Projekte, die ihr noch so vorhabt, aber nicht genug Zeit/Raum/Know-How/Werkzeug dafür habt? Also mein nächster Wünsch wäre Glas zu blasen. Aber jetzt wird erstmal fleißig geknetet.

Achso, und eine Kuh will ich unbedingt mal melken.

Here it is: my new kiln!

Last weekend I've been to a pottery taster course and because I wanted to make pottery for a long time and the course was great I decided to buy a kiln. Maybe I jumped the gun, I have no glue how it will work but I think it's good to be unmoderate from time to time. At least it feels quite good :)

What are your craft ambitions? What things do you want to do/make but you don't have enough time/space/know-how/instruments? My next project is glassblowing. But first I will pug. Many things.

And yes, I absolutely want to milk a cow.

Im letzten Monat hatte ich meinen ersten Großauftrag, fast 50 Rahmen! :) Stolz wie Bolle :)

Neues Papier!

Vor einiger Zeit kam eine Lieferung mit neuen Papieren an, das Auspacken fühlt sich immer an wie Weihnachten. Und ein bisschen wie Geburtstag.  :) Also helle Freude hier, das steht fest.

Some days ago I received a package with new design papers, feels like Christmas. And like my birthday, too. :)

Portrait Klappe die Vierte: Tennor mit Piwang

Und wieder ein neues Portrait. Diesmal habe ich mit Gold grundiert, allerdings hatte das keinen sichtbaren Effekt, ich denke ich habe die Untergrundfarbe zu dünn aufgetragen oder die Qualität der Farbe war nicht gut genug. Das nächste Portrait ist schon in Arbeit :)

A new portrait. This time I used gold as a primer but it had no visible effect. So maybe I used too less paint or the quality of the paint wasn't good enough. Next portrait is already in the works :)

Blumengrüße aus Italien

Eigentlich bin ich ja schon lange wieder zurück aus dem Urlaub, aber irgendwie war so viel zu tun und ein bisschen faul war ich auch. Aber ich habe ganz tolle Blumen aus Italien mitgebracht, zumindest Fotos von Blumen :)

Actually I've been back from holidays in Italy for quite a long time now but either I was busy or lazy. But have a look at those great flowers from Italy :)

Sommerpause

Hiermit verabschiede ich mich erstmal in die Sommerpause. Vom verregneten Deutschland ins (hoffentlich) sonnige Italien. Habt eine gute Zeit! :)

Klappe die Dritte: Portraits

So, mein drittes Porträt. Diesmal habe ich vorher eine türkisfarbene Grundierung angelegt, das ist wirklich toll, wie die Farbe die Hautfarbe verändert und das Blau weiter durchschimmert (bei den Fingern sieht man es gut). Leider habe ich für das Gesicht andere Farben benutzt als für den Hals-Schulterbereich, so sieht das Gesicht aus wie eine Maske. Naja, dann weiß ich das jetzt, dass man die Farben zwischendurch nicht wechseln sollte, wenn man ein homogenes Bild haben will.

The third portrait. This time I used a light turquoise as priming paint. It's really great how the foundation changes the colour of the skins and you can see the blue still shining through (especially at the fingers). Unfortunately I used different colours for the face and for the nack-shoulder-area, so the face looks like a mask. But now I know that it's not a good idea to use different skin colours if you want to have a homogenous picture.

Drawing Challenge: I

Das heutige Thema der Drawing Challenge heißt: Ich. 

Ich habe mich für zwei Selbstporträts entschieden. Mein erstes und mein bisher letztes. Das untere Bild habe ich mit neun Jahren gemalt und das obere letzte Woche (einer der ersten Ölmalversuche). Ich finde, dass beide Bilder sehr verschiedene Charakterzüge von mir ausdrücken und fand die Bilder deswegen passend für diese Challenge.

I choose two self portraits. My first and my previous picture. The below picture I painted when I was nine years old and the upper one last week (one of my first oil painting tries). I think that both pictures show different features of me, so I thought this pictures could fit well in this challenge.

Portraits: Klappe die Zweite - Work in Progress

Das zweite Portrait ist in Arbeit. Ich bin mir noch unschlüssig, ob ich es mit Acryl oder Öl malen soll. Ölfarben besitze ich nur leider zur Zeit noch gar nicht, also wird es wohl auf Acryl hinauslaufen. Weiß jemand, ob es Sinn macht den Hintergrund mit Acryl zu malen und den Kopf mit Öl?

This is my second portrait in progress. I'm not sure if I should paint it with acrylics or with oil. Unfortunately I don't have any oil paints here so probably it will be acrylics. Does anybody know if it makes sense to paint the background with acrylics and the head with oil?

Ab heute bevölkern wieder neue Vögelchen mein Arbeitszimmer. In meinem Shop zu finden hier und hier.

Ein Ausreißer war dabei, findest du ihn?

Ich habe gestern erfahren, dass mein Bilderrahmenlieferant die Rahmen aus dem Sortiment nimmt. Aber zum Glück habe ich schon einen neuen Anbieter gefunden und vielleicht gibt es bald alle Bilderrahmen mit Glasplatte und MDF-Rückwand zum gleichen Preis. Das wäre wirklich wunderbar.

Yesterday I heard that my picture frames 

distributor doesn't make my picture frames 

anymore but fortunately I found a new one 

and maybe in some time all frames will be 

with glass and mdf for the same price in my 

shop. That would be wonderful.

Inspiration statt Motivation

Den Tag nehmen, wie er kommt. Keine Termine, keine Verpflichtungen, keine Pläne. So soll er ab jetzt werden, der Mittwoch. Ich gebe mir Raum und Zeit für meine Ideen und versuche nicht aus der Motivation etwas zu erreichen zu handeln, sondern aus dem inspirierten Moment. Na dann mal los!

No appointments, no commitments, no plans. That's how wednesdays should become. I will take my time for my ideas and try not to act out of motivation but out of an inspiring moment.
